“These reflections come from decades of labor, observation, mistakes, and learning, drawn from factories, stores, museums, and family life, and shared to show how thoughts, feelings, and actions quietly shape who a person becomes over time through consistent effort, responsibility, choice, patience, service, reflection, honesty, and work.”

Welcome to My Writer’s World
Warren R. Abbott has built a life full of steady effort, endless curiosity, and quiet creativity. Born in Washington D.C., he started young with a paper route serving apartments and Fort Myer Army Base. He sold repurposed romance pocket books to secretaries for 25 cents, earned adventure trips by selling candy and lightbulbs, and completed epic 100-mile canoe journeys in Canada. He earned a BA in Arts and an equivalent BS in Horticulture. He spent 10 years at The Smithsonian Institution (honored as Employee of the Year three times), planting 180,000 tulip bulbs and crafting floral displays for dignitaries. For 14 years he drove product development at Kencraft Candy, sparking 700% growth with joyful candy art for Disney, Walmart, Target, and countless others while leading 350 talented factory workers.
Later he excelled as Assistant Manager at Walmart, spent 10 years at WINCO Foods, and now, at 75, crafts precision jet-airplane parts at Selmet Titanium. Through every chapter, he learned that true value flows from the hands and hearts of people in everyday roles, the small streams that feed mighty rivers.

The Art Of Becoming
Becoming
Your Today, Is Your Tomorrow
This book is written for readers who want to understand how daily choices quietly shape the direction of a life over time.
The Art of BECOMING is Warren R. Abbott’s thoughtful guide to shaping your life through everyday thinking, feeling, and action. Rather than encouraging readers to wait for clarity or direction, the book focuses on actively creating the person you are becoming. Abbott returns again and again to a simple structure: thoughts plant the starting point, feelings influence direction, and repeated actions determine results.
Through personal experiences, lessons learned from mistakes, and insights drawn from people he worked with and learned from over many years, Abbott explains how consistent, honest choices slowly change a life. The book reminds readers that lasting improvement rarely comes from dramatic moments, but from what is done quietly and repeatedly over time.
This book brings together lessons gathered across decades of work, mistakes, effort, and observation. The ideas are meant to be practical, repeatable, and grounded in everyday life rather than theory. Each section encourages readers to pause, reflect, and apply what they learn through small choices made consistently. Nothing here asks for perfection, only attention, honesty, and willingness to act when opportunities appear over time through experience, responsibility, patience, and steady personal effort each day.
What follows offers a brief introduction to the book's core approach and the simple idea that daily thinking, feeling, and action quietly shape direction long before results.
What This Book Offers Readers
This book is written as a long conversation rather than a set of instructions. Abbott acts as a guide who gathered lessons from history, work, faith, mistakes, and everyday moments so readers do not have to spend decades learning the same truths alone.
The focus remains on honest self-examination, clear thinking, effort, kindness, and acting on what truly matters instead of reacting to fear or habit. Readers will find practical reminders rather than quick answers.
The book encourages slowing down, paying attention to daily choices, and understanding how habits form over time. It speaks to people at any stage of life who want clarity, direction, and a stronger sense of purpose built through action rather than intention alone. Each chapter returns to the same foundation: change does not happen all at once it happens through what you choose to do today.
Book Main Themes
1. Thought, Feeling, and Action
Thought, Feeling, and Action
Every outcome begins internally. What you think shapes how you feel, and what you feel influences what you do. Over time, this chain forms your character and your life.
2. Freedom, Seeing, and Responsibility
Personal freedom grows when self-imposed limits are removed. Learning to see clearly leads to better decisions, and better decisions lead to ownership of one’s life.
